What is the quickest and best way to get rid of a migrane headache?

Whenever I get migranes I have the pain near the eyes, and the light sensitivity, and the noise sensitivity, but what is the best way to get rid of one quick? Whats the best medicine for it?
Answer:
The peppermint oil suggestion was excellent! I used to use this tangerine mint aromatherapy gel, very good to use when you're sick to your stomach and waiting for the meds to take hold. When I ran out of this and was in a pinch, I use just plain muscle rub. Just rub a bit on your temples and forehead well away from your eyes. It's instant relief. One thing to think about too nobody has mentioned is make sure you don't have high blood pressure. It's very important to consult with a professional whether a homeopathic, naturopathic or other doctor you're comfortable with that you don't have this condition. Serious complications could arise and you could be faced with something far worse than a migraine. Stay well hydrated, don't smoke or drink and examine your diet to see if there are specific triggers that you think may cause a headache. Maintaining a healthy vitamin and mineral regimen with the help of someone trained to assist you in this is crucial. Keep a diet and pain journal if this is ongoing and try to chart your B.P. along with it if you have a cuff. Stress, diet, weather, pollution, in-home irritants, allergies, hormones, Rx drugs, illicit drugs... all these can play a very real role in your daily comfort. Stay informed and God Bless!
Eat 2 slices of cheese, and 7 litres of water. Seriously.
in response to answer 1 - there is a chemical in cheese that is known for causing headaches...but...migranes can be caused by lack of calcium..so look into that. Dehydration can also be a factor. I personally use ground red (cayenne) pepper. 1/2 - 1 teaspoon in a cup of water.
Feverfew herb and b vitamins may help. also may help the reoccurance of them
Pepermint oil... smell it, rub it on your temples... whatever... its strong and it makes a difference.
Quickest way is probably to take a migraine pain med...Best way to treat and deal with migraines on daily basis is with a Magnesium supplement (http://www.jigsawhealth.com/products/mag...If your body is deficient in magnesium it leads to migraines -- also, here is page with links to TONS of info on migraines, good luck! http://www.jigsawhealth.com/articles/mig...
Cure for headaches: Camamile oil is great for migranes; just rub it into your temples. Another alternative is to take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away. Well I hope this is of some help for you
Hi Justink, for my only the lemon can be my best friend when I have a common migrane headache. I simply cut a long strip of the rind and put it on my forehead 鈥?rub in the inside white part and then fasten it to my head. Sure, you鈥檒l look a little nutty but who cares as long as it gets rid of the ache!

Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at
